Description:

PhonePe is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer for its core data operations division in Bengaluru. In this position, you will own the data consumption and engineering strategy across different business vertices. Working closely with product and engineering squads, you will analyze structural data flows, construct scalable data models, and deploy automated data pipelines. The role places an emphasis on big data processing and technical optimization—requiring you to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who establishes querying best practices, integrates artificial intelligence pipelines for predictive insights, and overcomes technical constraints to ensure enterprise data availability at scale.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of professional data analytics or business intelligence engineering experience in relevant environments.
• Mastery of advanced SQL to construct highly complex queries, manipulate large-scale datasets, and consolidate disparate data sources.
• Hands-on operational expertise with Hive, including a solid internal understanding of big data querying mechanics and query optimization techniques.
• Strong conceptual understanding of data handling, relational or dimensional data modeling, and end-to-end infrastructure data flows.
• Practical knowledge or experience leveraging AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to build automated insight programs and smart, BI-focused applications.
• A strong, fundamental grasp of data visualization and BI dashboard design principles to build clear, effective visual data stories.
• Practical knowledge of Python, specifically applied toward data processing, automation scripting, or AI pipeline integrations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively translate complex technical data barriers into logical, cross-functional solutions.
